General Meeting
February 17, 2010
The meeting was called to order by Grand Knight Charles Mayo at 8:00

Minutes were read and amended. Golf outing date is July 16, not July 15 as read.
There were three applications this month to review; a transfer, Richard Lucas and new candidates, John Schuring
and Evan Miller. The ballot box was prepared and the members accepted all three candidates.
Grand Knight’s Report
GK advised the general meeting that the officers had approved a $500 donation to Supreme for the Haiti Relief
Fund. GK asked for voting by the members. After a discussion of the amount a vote was taken and carried. GK
reminded the brothers that individual donations were still encouraged and that a tax reduction could be used for
the year 2009 if the donation was made by February 28, 2010.
There were two winners at the District Free-throw tournament from SJN. They will be moving forward to the
Regional Event on March 6 in Fairfield. Trophies for all the winners of the SJN tournament will be awarded at the
next officer’s meeting.
A brother has offered a 1992 Mercedes as a donation to the council for the benefit of Pro-life. There was a
discussion as to how to get the greatest return for the car. An auction, drawing and listing on web-sites was
discussed. Final determination will come later.
John Krebs and Jim Otto have volunteered to work on the Bob Peter’s Memorial Shed Committee.
Rich Klein, Buzz Anspach and Larry Beat will serve on the officer’s candidate committee
There will be a 3rd Degree in Enola on March 21.
There will be a 2nd Degree on March 11 in Columbia. Four from our council will be attending.

Treasurer’s Report
Wayne reported for Ron that we had an opening balance of $5,972.05; $1,758.66 was dispensed with $3,215.00
of income, for a current balance of $7,428.39. The scholarship fund remained unchanged at $6,190.14 as well
as the building fund which is at $3,042.45.
Financial Secretary’s Report
Wayne reported 1 voucher for $500.00 for the Haiti Relief Fund. Wayne said that we are in good standing with
Supreme. We now have 5 new members toward our goal of 11. We lost one insurance member and now have a
goal of 4 new insurance members. Wayne recorded the brothers volunteer hours for January.
Communications
GK reported that we received a thank you from Marie Quinn for the enjoyable time that she had at the Holiday
Ball. Gk also reported that we received thank you notes from the Lancaster County Mental Health & Retardation
Association and the Mental Health of Lancaster County Association.

Deputy Grand Knight Committee Reports
Baptismal – no report
Football Sweeps – no report
Giving Tree – it was proposed that we add A Women’s Concern next year.
Adoration – no report
Pro-life – Larry reported on the meeting at A Women’s Concern. The organization tends to limit the number of
ultra-sounds that they perform due to the cost which is $20 per exam. This amount is paid to a doctor to read the
report. Larry asked the brothers to suggest or talk to a brother that is a doctor who would be willing to read the
reports at no cost or could suggest a doctor that may be willing to donate some time. A Women’s Concern is also
in need of a copier, diapers and formula as well as some donated time to assist with building maintenance. GK
said he had a copier that he would be willing to donate. Larry reminded us that A Women’s Concern is having a
fund raiser on April 29 and encouraged attendance.
ARC – Will be May 13-14-15
Atlantic City Bus Trip – March 21, a few seats still remaining.
Billboard – no report
St Anne’s Building Fund – no report
Magnet Sales – a final report of sales is being complied
COAL – 169 tickets were sold in 2009. We purchased 200 so 31 were entered in the name of the council. Our
profit was $478.
1st Degree – February 28 at St Peter’s in E’town. A 1st degree is being planned for SJN in April.
Membership – Al is scheduling a committee meeting to be held in the next few weeks.
Road Clean-up – Scheduled dates for 2010 are; April 24, June 26, September 18 and November 13.
Holiday Ball –no report
Dutch Wonderland- Al expects information in March.
Vocation – no report
Golf – Dick reported that a meeting of the committee was being held immediately following this meeting to decide
on the location for this year’s event.
Food Collection – will be on March 6 and 7. Sign-up sheets were passed.
Free Throw – SJN had two winners at the district event. The regional tournament is March 6.
Corporate Breakfast – is scheduled for April 25 at the Eden immediately following the 7:30 AM mass.
Pig Roast – this year’s event is August 22

New Business
St Anne’s requested the council to purchase an ad for the Shamrock program book. We previously took a full
page ad, this year’s full page cost is $200. After some discussion a vote was taken and carried.
GK also reported a request for $50 for the Morality in Media program. This amount is in the budget and carried.
Brother Pat Russeniello informed the council that a discussion was being held with the Dominican Nuns of Ann
Arbor, MI for possible consideration of teaching at the new school. Pat advised that this was in the very early
stage. Pat also let us know that the Sisters of Life from NY would be coming to SJN and other area churches and
schools to speak of a life of vocation. They will be here October 2 to 5. Pat said there may be a need for
donations to cover their cost of meals and other expenses.
GK noted that the State Convention will be in May and that he and Al will attend. Rich Klein volunteered to be an
alternate. One more is needed.
GK reminded the council of the rules of decorum when requesting to speak at the meeting.

District Deputy Report
Frank Gappa reported that the snow thrower at the monastery is in need of repair and asked if anyone had
the expertise to repair it. He also reminded us of the Ordination in June.
Good of Order
Members, families, relatives, widows, clergy and friends sick or in distress were mentioned as well as our
service men and women.
Closing prayers were led by Grand Knight Chuck Mayo. Closing ode sung and the meeting adjourned at 9:38 PM.
